We invite you to Spring Jubilee and experience Bishop Hill renewed. You are invited to enjoy spring and experience fresh ideas throughout the village shops, museums, and restaurants.St Visit and have coffee with the locals and a cookie or two. Spring has arrived and birds are beginning to seek out nesting spots. Sue Ruxton, Master Gardener University of Illinois Extension, will present a program at 1 pm, on attracting birds to your yard, at the Bishop Hill Museum. Ruxton, from Geneseo, will discuss and answer questions on how to enhance your existing yard landscape to make it more bird friendly. In addition to the presentation, packets of bird nesting materials will be available at the Museum.
The Swedish word Slöjd, which translates as crafts, handicraft, or handiwork. It refers primarily to woodwork but also paper-folding and sewing, embroidery, knitting, and crochet. Educational Slöjd, the purpose was to form the benefits of handicraft in general education to build the character of the child, encouraging moral behavior, greater intelligence, and industriousness.
