Run& Fun in Woodhull this July!
Start the day of Woodhull Family Fun Fest running or walking in the 5K run and family walk. Registration begins at 6:45 a.m. at Alwood High School. 5K racers take off at 8 a.m. and the family run begins at 9:30 a.m. Both events wind through Woodhull and the Illinois countryside. Food, water, t-shirts and trophies awarded. Special awards will go to top finishers in each event.
Three A’s –activities for all ages! Three A’s and fun are the perfect recipe for summer fun in rural America. Activities begin at 8:00 am with a 5K race winding through Woodhull and the countryside. A family-fun run for the soon-to-be 5K runners starts at 9:30am. The activities at the park feature water fights, a variety of games for the younger children, bingo, and, last not but least, the ALL ages (kids-19, 19-44, and 45 and up) free-throw and three-point contests. Pet the animals, get your face painted and stroll through the antique tractor show. Enjoy a lunch of pork chops by the AlWood Lions Club, bingo in the park, and an ice cream social sponsored by the churches of Woodhull. At 4:00 serving of a BB Rib Dinner will begin on Division Street and family entertainment until 7 p.m. As dusk falls, put on your dancing shoes for an old-fashioned street dance. It will be fun for all; hope to see you there.
OSF HealthCare Saint Luke Medical Center will host a 5K Run/Walk to benefit local children.
The event will take place on Tuesday, July 25 at 6pm, starting at OSF HealthCare Saint Luke Medical Center, 1051 West South Street, Kewanee.
The course features 3.1 miles/5K loop in the south-west corner of the city of Kewanee. It begins at OSF HealthCare Saint Luke, loops from South Street, to Burlington Avenue, to Page Street, to Beach Street, and back to South Street, finishing in the OSF HealthCare Saint Luke parking lot. Split times will be given at each mile and water will be provided on the course. Restrooms are available at OSF HealthCare Saint Luke.
Prizes will be awarded to the first three finishers, male and female. Refreshments will be provided after the race. The entry fee of $25 includes a t-shirt for individuals who are pre-registered by July 10. Registration received after the deadline will receive an event t-shirt after the event. Race packets will be available for pick up on Monday, July 24 and Tuesday, July 25 from 7am to 3pm at OSF HealthCare Saint Luke Rehabilitation Services. Proceeds from the OSF HealthCare Saint Luke 5K support the children’s free flu immunization program providing a free flu immunization for students attending Kewanee, Wethersfield, Visitation and Neponset schools.
Family time is Forever Young Race Time!
Jordan Rahn Memorial, Forever Young, 5K/1 Mile run has over 400 runners, during Atkinson Heritage Days. The 5K begins at 8 a.m. on a flat race course through the Village of Atkinson streets. The 1K begins approximately at 9 a.m. Entries received before August 21st will be entered for door prize drawings and receive a guaranteed t-shirt. Entry Fee: 5k $20, 1K : $15. All memorial run proceeds will benefit non-profit organizations assisting foster children.
A beautiful Autumn day promises a fun laid back experience on the stunning Hennepin Canal Run on the multi-purpose trail, bike along Patriot Way and paddle down the Hennepin canal to victory! Mini-Triathlon participants must be 12 years or older. A festive finish line celebration filled with music, participants will receive a t-shirt, complimentary picnic lunch and drink. Children under 12 can participate in the fun run/paddle and begins at 12:15 p.m.
