John’s July Coffeehouse is a tribute to John Sloan’s spirit of giving with a three-hour tribute to John’s creative talent, held in Wiley Park. It showcases a full lineup of local and regional flavor featuring over twenty artists singing and playing music.
A night of heartfelt tunes and rowdy singalongs inspired by the late Galva native. Johns’ vision of making Galva a better place is growing. John believed in maintaining the arts as vital to the community’s success and spirit.
Refreshments will be provided and Messiah Lutheran Church will hold their annual Pork Chop/Ice Cream Social from 5pm to 7pm.
Enjoy the City of Galva’s Freedom Fest 5K Run through town and country roads for the old and young at heart, and a quarter-mile fun run for kids! Awards will be given for best patriotic costume! Course Features: 3.1 miles out and back. The race begins and ends in Wiley Park at 8 a.m. sharp! State Bank of Toulon Dash for Cash, Free TV giveaway and more!

Galva will be the place to hear country music stars in a natural prairie park setting . Pitch your chairs, bring your blankets and cozy on up for a late summer afternoon into the evening musical concert. Performers to be announced late winter months. All food and beverage will be available on site, no outside beverages or food allowed.
An Ol’ Fashioned Christmas Celebration!
Hidden away and found each year is the timeless Galva Ole Fashioned celebration to be held Saturday, November 26. A simple home spun artistic and joyful event. The Galva Arts Council brings the community and its families together at the downtown Arts Council building, which will be abuzz all day.
A season favorite, Galva’s Mini Tree Festival features local artists and residents who place their seasonal creations, including Christmas trees and wreaths, on display for everyone to view. Lunch is served from and features a fabulous baked potato bar with trimmings, dessert, and beverage.
At dusk, everyone lines the streets to enjoy the Galva Chamber of Commerce’s lighted parade. It meanders downtown Galva and residents line the street to see lighted floats as melodies fill the air. It becomes a magical night as Wiley Park is aglow with over 10,000 cheerful Christmas Lights. Walk through the park and enjoy the lights.
Head back to the Galva Arts Council building. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the evening coffeehouse headliner begins at 7 p.m… A festive jump-start in store for your holiday spirit. All musicians and storytellers are invited to join in the open-mic session beginning at 8:30 p.m.
Travel the back roads to Galva this holiday weekend. Bring a friend or two and light your Christmas spirit.

Make & Take Ornaments Bring your little ones for a hands on ornament craft. Children can choose to make a gingerman, snowflakes, reindeer, or Christmas tree ornament for your home decorations. The ornaments will be ready to go your tree that day. Donations welcome.
Mini-Tree Festival Stop by and see a selection of decorated Christmas trees. If you want to bring one of the trees home with you, we will have a drawing on Sunday beginning at 1:30. You can purchase tickets for the drawing on Nov. 26. Ticket prices are $1 each or 6 for $5.
Lunch $5 will get you a bowl of soup, a hot or cold drink, and a cookie. We are making extra efforts this year so we won’t run out of cookies.
Chocolate Walk The Performing Arts Boosters will be having a Chocolate Walk in the Galva Arts Center with a variety of goodies for you to take home.
