Celebrate Old Settlers’ Day in Historic Bishop Hill, IL
Celebrate the 172nd anniversary of the 1846 founding of the Bishop Hill Colony and the 121st year of the Old Settlers’ Association.
Savor a traditional chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the historic Colony School. This delicious meal features chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, slaw, Swedish rye bread, homemade pie, and good strong coffee. The $10/person cost includes beverage and dessert. For children under 8 years the cost is $5.
Head to Village Park and enjoy a performance by the Bishop Hill High Society Band. A Bishop Hill Colony descendant will share stories passed from one generation to the next. Join in a social time at Colony School with Swedish rusks and coffee served.
