Start your weekend by setting up camp at one of seven campgrounds. Henry County is the perfect location for your next overnight, outdoor adventure. All campgrounds have modern, clean restrooms, plus, some grounds even have a yurt and cabins available for use. Campgrounds are open through October 31.
Explore the great outdoors with action-packed adventures. Henry County campgrounds also offer easy access to hiking, fishing, canoes and kayaks, and numerous other family activities. You can also travel scenic routes from Geneseo to Bishop Hill on bike or go off-roading at Gob Hill. This motorsports park features over 100 acres of undiscovered timber, 116 acres of desert-like riding, and some of the most open, unrestricted riding you’ll find this side of California.
Take a day to pick a pumpkin and travel the maze. Travel short way over to Alpha’s Country Corner to pick your own pumpkin and wind your way through 8 acres of twisting trails. Your family will love competing for who completes the maze the fastest, plus they have numerous corn maze games available for you to test out your skills. A small maze is available for younger kids. Activities are available through October (weather and trail conditions permitting): Monday through Friday Noon to 6pm & Saturday and Sunday 10:30am-6pm.

Start your weekend by checking into the Bishop Hill Gallery Inn. With three suites available for rent – each with a queen bed and private bath, this is an exclusive, fun-filled weekend that is sure to be on your top picks for a fall getaway year after year. Grab your friends and shiver in fear on the Illinois Trail of Terror. Featuring one of the top 10 Halloween Haunted houses in Illinois, Torment at Twelve Hundred in Orion, will be the event you talk about for ages. This theatrical haunt features storylines and plots that will have your hair standing on end. They also recently added to the house and the woods, so come prepared to be scared!
Target LIVE zombies in the woods with paintball. Also included in the Trail of Terror is Zombie Quest at the Country Corner. Every Friday and Saturday night from 7pm-10pm, you’ll have a chance to play paintball from the wagon while shooting LIVE zombies. Plus, you never get shot! Only you and your group have the weapons. Flashlight Maze is available for a lighter affair.

Start you day exploring the Hennepin. With its lush banks and rich wildlife, this 104-mile linear park offers plenty of places for hiking, biking, horseback riding, snowmobiling, canoeing, fishing and more. Bicyclists love riding town to town exploring the history, dining, lodging and entertainment of the areas.
Dine and drive through Bishop Hill. Enchantment waits behind every door and window in Bishop Hill, especially with the rustics smells of fall in the air. In addition to enjoying the wonderful culture of this uniquely preserved Swedish community, here are some places you have to put on your must-stop list: Bishop Hill Bakery & Eatery for freshly-baked pastries and delicious, made-from-scratch meals, P.L. Johnson’s for Swedish-themed sandwiches in a unique old hardware store atmosphere, and The Filling Station for homemade daily specials that make you feel like you’re at a friend’s house for dinner.
End your day with the theatre in Geneseo. Fall is a great time to visit Geneseo with two special showings by the Richmond Hill Players at the round-barn theater: Flowers for Algernon plays in October and Inlaws, Outlaws & Other People who should be shot plays in December. While in town, we encourage you to explore the many unique shops featuring g a unique collection of specialty shops filled with art, clothing, and home décor. Good’s Furniture in Kewanee is also nearby for even more amazing finds.

Railroad & History Buffs Explore
Follow the rails through Henry County, enjoy the beautifully preserved architecture in communities like Bishop Hill and Geneseo, and explore a mural or two in Kewanee which features fifteen Walldog murals depicting various events throughout Kewanee’s history. You can also head into Geneseo for the Trains, Planes, and Automobiles on September 10 to mingle with other car and train enthusiasts.
Sunday Morning Motorcycle Rally
Sunday mornings often are accompanied by the rumble of motorcycles rolling through Bishop Hill as they head to The Filling Station for its famous Swedish pancakes. After breakfast, cyclists begin cruising the back roads of Henry County.
