Beer & Wine

Henry County is known for its simple pleasures, and that includes our local beverages as well! What could be better than touring a winery or craft beer brewery and enjoying the taste of Henry County by the glass or goblet? Seeing where and how it’s made adds to the enjoyment.

Wine goes with everything

Have a delightful lunch or a wine tasting with local wine at Lavender Crest Winery in Colona, followed by a tour of their facility. Take a walk through the beautiful grounds, observing the vineyard, the gazebos and the many flower gardens. Then hit the gift shop for chocolates and wine gifts. Wines include Colona White, Chocolate Love and Miche Sepi.

Raise a pint with a friend

Is beer more to your taste? Geneseo Brewing Company offers both ales and lagers in its small neighborhood brewery in historic downtown Geneseo. Check their website for the next live music performance. They have a full menu of sandwiches, burgers and other tasty fare, but pay special attention to their dessert menu, which features such surprises as Beer Cake, Cinnamon Beer Bread and Chocolate Stout Cake, made with their Peanut Butter Porter. How can you go wrong with beer for dessert?

Enjoy the view

“Local, local, local!” doesn’t just apply to real estate. It’s also a thing in dining now. Lionstone Brewery & Gastropub in Geneseo keeps it all local. Local beer, local food – even the wood used in this gastropub’s wood-fired pizza oven is local! Beers include Iron Harvest Belgian Saison and Vanilla Velvet Porter and pizzas include the Hunter Gatherer and the Antipastolicious.
