Galva

Galva – The City of Go

Spacious parks and friendly neighborhoods showcasing Victorian architecture are featured in local homes and throughout the downtown area.  The progressive community is thriving with a variety of specialty stores, a historical museum, inviting parks, and restaurants.

Established in 1854, Galva was named for a seaport in Sweden originally spelled Gefle.  Rich in Swedish tradition, Galva  features two large decorative goats called Gavlebocken.  Scandinavian heritage is evident in its rich history, a history complemented by industrious invention. Home to some of the world’s most recognized entrepreneurs and inventors, Galvans take great pride in a job well done. Galva has been home to many famous artists, cartoonists, and authors.

Annual events are surrounded with music, art, and community fun! In July, the skies shine brightly and in December, Veteran’s Park glows.
