Ice fishing, ice skating, and cross-country skiing are all available at Hennepin Canal, but their main attraction for winter outdoor enthusiasts is their snowmobiling trails.

Snowmobiling can be an exciting break from the stagnancy of winter. It’s also a great way to explore places you’d otherwise never venture to against a beautiful snowy backdrop. Did you know that the Hennepin Canal Parkway State Park is home to Illinois’ longest snowmobile trail? It’s true and it’s amazing—91 miles long! Come plan a trek along the trail this winter and make sure to include stops to any restaurants and stores along the trail.
